Apart from deleting the Symantec Antivirus update log files, there are also the IIS 6 and SMTP log files that can be deleted to free up space.\u00c2\u00a0 If enable logging is slected in IIS and SMTP then you can delete them manually.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions to determine\u00c2\u00a0path for SMTP log files<\/strong><br \/>\nOpen Exchange System Manager, then click on<br \/>\n\u2013 Administrative Groups<br \/>\n\u2013 First Administrative Groups<br \/>\n\u2013 Servers<br \/>\n\u2013 Server Name<br \/>\n\u2013 Protocols<br \/>\n\u2013 SMTP<br \/>\n\u2013 Right click, Default SMTP Virtual Server, click properties<br \/>\n-\u00c2\u00a0If Enable Logging is slected then click on Properties, this will display the path for the log files.\u00c2\u00a0 The default path is C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\LogFiles\\SMTPSVC1.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: right;\"><div style=\"margin: 15px 15px 15px 15px\";><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"pub-3319935785736004\";\ngoogle_alternate_color = \"FFFFFF\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 200;\ngoogle_ad_height = 200;\ngoogle_ad_format = \"200x200_as\";\ngoogle_ad_type = \"text_image\";\ngoogle_ad_channel =\"\";\ngoogle_color_border = \"cccccc\";\ngoogle_color_link = \"cc0000\";\ngoogle_color_bg = \"ffffff\";\ngoogle_color_text = \"000000\";\ngoogle_color_url = \"008000\";\n\/\/--><\/script>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\n  src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div><\/div><p>The format of the file is exyymmdd.log, where yy is the year, mm is the month, and dd is day.<\/p>\n<p>If OWA is enabled on the Exchange server, then you can follow the below instructions to delete the IIS 6 log files.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions\u00c2\u00a0to determine path for IIS 6 log files<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\nOpen IIS Manager and click on<br \/>\n\u2013 Server Name<br \/>\n\u2013 Web Sites<br \/>\n\u2013 Right click Dedault Web Site<br \/>\n\u2013 click properties<br \/>\n\u2013 click properties\u00c2\u00a0for Enable logging and you will see the path for the logs, the default path is C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\LogFiles\\W3SVC1.\u00c2\u00a0 The file format is same as the above, exyymmdd.log.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0Also delete the IIS error log, \\C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\LogFiles\\HTTPERR.\u00c2\u00a0 This should free up precious space as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Very sledom I find that\u00c2\u00a0the system partition on my Exchange 2003 server\u00c2\u00a0is running low on space.
