I know this is an old post but wanted to let other users havng the same issue.

This happened to us yesterday leaving Amherst New York and heading back to Hamilton, ON!! Very scary and we had help from wonderful people who were leading a Boy Scout group in Wales, NY that got us turned around and headed home.

I am sure you can get around this issue by entering in the addresses of the Border Crossing and getting home in 2 stages, enter the border crossing you wish to go to then once at the border enter home.

NOTE: When you are going to leave your location and look at your GPS to enter the Border Crossing you will be able to see which Border Crossing is closest to wherever you are and can choose that Border Crossing.
